Flashback thirty eight months ago, I met someone online. A total stranger. I never believed that meeting and dating online could be real like this, that it could work for anyone. Or that I can make a long distance relationship work with someone from the other side of the world. Not to me, not to me.. But I was wrong..
I didn’t see it coming. I couldn’t afford to just let it go and I’m completely a different person now, because despite the fact that I never believed in love online, I also didn’t believe in marriage. It’s ironic.. Yes, it’s ironic knowing you’ll forget what you used to believe in when the right person come into your life, when the right time comes and,–when you chose love!
I can’t help but not to smile or laugh at myself when I think of how dumb I was for underestimating love. I’m a loser, it hit me real big time.. Love wins over me! It does move in mysterious ways and in, ways that we least expect it, doesn’t it?
Love is very entertaining, just like the movies. There were times when love in our relationship is full of drama– tears, uncertainties, fights, and those things that could sometimes lead to giving up. But when love is strong, no matter how hard the situation is.. No matter how difficult making choices is.. Love could turn two different people into something funny, and– fun, and sometimes put the relationship in comedy-mode like the movies.
Oh, snap.. Did I just say comedy? It could be crazier and funnier than you can imagine, but our relationship is like Tom and Jerry‘s. Sometimes it feels so irritating but believe me, at the end of the day, it’s still the two of us– holding on each other and never letting go.
And since I’m talking about love and movies, I couldn’t wait to watch the new Nicholas Sparks movie, The Choice on February 5! I’m sure this movie is going to be relatable to many because it’s about making difficult choices of the heart. It has been said that love conquers all, yet at some point it could be difficult to makes choices just so you could find your destiny and perfect match. The right person, as we call it!
Like many other of Nicholas Spark stories, the setting is coastal Carolina where North Carolina plays a big part in the story. And to spoil you a little more, the main characters’ first meeting was because of the encounter of their dogs. It’s adorable how their pets play an important role in the story.
With me here talking about this upcoming movie, it’s making me feel inspired a lot more about love. I think I’m having butterflies with the thoughts that I found my destiny and perfect match with whom I just married with yesterday (February 2, 2016)!
Love conquers all, against all odds, and despite the distance. You see, we made it! We survived our long distance relationship for more than 3 years and are blessed with a sweet baby boy!
Whoa, it always put a smile on my face whenever I look back on the day I met this stranger online. But he’s not a stranger anymore. He “was” my boyfriend(and will always be), the Tom (cat) to the Jerry (mouse) in my life.. And now he’s my husband and the father of our little Cody boy. Now we’re on our new journey to walk the road to forevermore together as husband and wife.
