Every pregnant mom feels the excitement of holding her baby in her arms close to her body. But you know what’s more heartwarming when you didn’t give birth yet? It’s when you see your baby even before she/he was born. That was priceless! Thanks to our new technology for bringing us the 4D ultrasound to see our baby in real-time.
I remember the feeling I get the very first time I saw my baby via ultrasound by the 7th week of my pregnancy, he was so small then and still have that tadpole-like tail. I was teary-eyed and I can’t explain the happiness I’m feeling because there’s a living little human in my womb. Same thing happened during my second ultrasound appointment by the 9th week of my pregnancy, I saw my baby making tiny movements and I’m teary eyed once again, overjoyed and excited!
And during my 6th month ultrasound, I saw my little one in a more human form like a tiny newborn and his body is developing and getting more proportioned. Always teary-eyed and my eyes looked at my baby with so much love, though I’m really excited to know the baby’s gender, it’s a bit unclear but it looks like he’s a boy. The sonographer probably noticed that I’m always emotional every time I’m there. ๐ Yes, I always get emotional because no one’s there by my side, my boyfriend is not with me, he’s living in Australia so I have to be there alone. Additionally, pregnant women tend to be more emotional, aren’t they?
My doctor scheduled me for a 4D ultrasound at 32 weeks.
I’m really excited to find out what my baby’s gender ever since we found out I’m pregnant. And I’ve waited for the moment that I can see my baby once again, how he’s doing down there, and hope that the gender will give us a clearer view and so we can decide what name we want for our “little us”.
Going for this 4D ultrasound was kind of a pain in the ass, geez..
My sister accompanied me to travel by bus for more than an hour because there’s no clinic that does 4D ultrasound here in Santa Cruz, and the closest town that offers this service was in Calamba at Laguna Diagnostic Center Calamba Branch. If only I’m living in Manila, there’s a lot of clinics doing this service there and I don’t have to travel that far! We get there just around 9:00 am. The place was crowded, too many people are already there, waiting and seats are not enough to accommodate the number of people in there. Some lucky ones got a good seat, while I and other pregnant women have stood for hours waiting for our turn!

My feet are aching, I’m feeling hungry, peeing from time to time, and irritated because it feels like we’re waiting forever! My sister also looks like irritated and bored. We bear all that for many hours before we got our chance to take the vacant seats an hour before my turn! No one in the front desk informed us about the estimated time of my turn, that is annoying because I found out when the sonographer told me that they should have told us when I will be scanned and he said he kept on reminding them to, but they didn’t. We left that clinic after my baby’s 4D ultrasound scan was done, but we have to come back after 2 hours to get the ultrasound report, 4 photos of my baby, and a CD. We used that another 2 hours waiting time by going to the nearest mall (SM Calamba) and find something to eat! Because I’m very tired and hungry, it become my cheat day and I ate a lot of sweets and something icy!
Yet going our way back home is another sacrifice! We’ve waited for long hours for the buses, but all passing by our way are fully loaded and can’t take us in because I’m pregnant and it’s not a good idea to travel standing on the bus. We ended up taking a jeepney from there to my home, it’s indeed a very tiring day and we got home around 8:00 pm! Whoa, can you imagine we spent all day just for this 4D ultrasound?!
The baby’s gender and his looks..
It’s a boy, it’s a baby boy! That moment is priceless! So there, my little one was not very active during the scan. He behaves as if he knows there’s someone’s watching him. Aww.. my little boy, I always feel like he’s playing football down there, but he shy away that time and give us his frowning face, lol.. Probably he’s too hungry, too.. just as much as how hungry his mom is!

My baby at 32 weeks via 4D ultrasound
Though my baby’s body is still covered with vernix caseosa and surrounded with amniotic fluids, I can see some resemblances by this shot. I think he looks like more of his dad. His frowning lips seem like he got it from me, hihi.. I’m really excited for the big day that I can finally lay my arms around my baby, hug him, and make him feel so much of my love. He’s so precious to me!
