So, the whole nine months of me being pregnant is over. Minus the no-sleep-nights, I now have my baby with me who always brightens up my day with his sweet baby talks, coos, smiles, and laughter. Well, that’s a good news! And the bad news, which is not literally bad because it’s just normal– there’s these pregnancy symptoms that caused noticeable physical changes.
Dry skin, uneven skin tone, darker underarms, hair fall, itchy belly, and none of these could be worser than the stretch marks on my belly! Pregnancy problems, eh? It’s no secret to us that most of it will eventually get back to how it looks like before pregnancy, except the stretch marks. Well, that was devastating. But let’s just look at the bright side because I’m going to wear my pregnancy badges(read: stretch marks) with pride. And with the help of some products and good skincare practices, I believe it’s going to lighten one day– someday, hihi..
I’m just a little curious of what skincare routines does other women are using during and after pregnancy. So I thought I’m going to share what’s my recent favorite products, just in case they’re curious, too. π
So here’s my recent faves
Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Hair-fall Control Conditioner
It’s been 5 months already since I started using Pantene 3 Minute Miracle conditioner. Does that mean I’m loving this conditioner? Yes, absolutely! The first bottle I purchased was 3 Minute Miracle conditioner total damage care to help with my poor hair due to my frequent use of heat to curl or straighten my hair. It’s a good conditioner. Then the good pregnancy hormones has made my locks look even more healthier, but now that I’m no longer a preggy, I switched to 3 Minute Miracle hair fall control to help me with hairfall.
Those lovely locks during pregnancy caused by those good hormones isn’t forever. It is said that the amount of hair that sprouted during pregnancy will also fall around 6 months after giving birth. I guess I’m starting to have hairfall lately so I made the conditioner-switch and this one’s one of my new fave!
Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash
With heaps of dry skin all over my body, I need something that offers moisturizing and exfoliating at the same time. Dove has always been in my bath essentials because they’re so good with my sensitive skin in addition to its moisturization powers. But recently, I was about to picked the other version of this body wash that I regularly purchase before when this Dove Gentle Exfoliating body wash caught my attention. I was attracted that it has micro beads in it, perfect to help with exfoliation, so why not give it a try?! I’ve no regrets because it does what it says and feels so refreshing.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Because I have an acne prone sensitive skin that gives me breakouts whenever I use something that isn’t compatible with my skin type, I need something very gentle or something that isn’t comedogenic. And since not all products are pregnancy-safe and not recommended to use when breastfeeding, I opted to Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser as my daily facial wash. It’s really gentle! I can feel my skin feels so soft and smoother. I also bought one for my baby for his bath time, so it’s our favorite!
Celeteque
I’ve used Celeteque toner even before, it’s a gentle kind of toner which I will always end up purchasing if I can’t decide which one to get among other toner at the drugstore. I regularly purchased the Celeteque Acne Control toner before, but I opted in with the one which is alcohol-free. I love that it helps with hydration and my skin loves it, too!
Bio Oil
I started using it from the fourth month of my pregnancy to moisturize the skin on my belly to avoid itchiness cause by dry skin and to prevent stretch marks. Later on I decided to also use it as a moisturizer on my face and sometimes put it under makeup. Though it didn’t stop stretch marks from forming on my big belly because it’s really huge, Bio-oil is still on the list of my recent favorites because it saved me from scratching my belly during the time of my pregnancy. Additionally, it’s giving me that dewy look and well moisturized skin with or without makeup. I think, this Bio-oil is something I must always have on my beauty essentials cos it serves a lot of purposes.
Contractubex
My doctor recommended me this and I’m trying my luck with this scar gel with the hope that it’ll help my C-section scar disappear. I’m also using it all over my super-stretched belly to at least lighten my stretch marks. The best thing I like about this contractubex gel is that the skin absorbs it quickly.
That’s it for now! How about you, would you mind sharing your most recent favorite products, too?
